Morning,

Over the past month or so my Nvidia drivers have been crashing and restarting at random times. Doesn't happen to often but enough to notice.

Now when I'm watching videos and sometimes during the loading screens of games i seen red/white flashing pixels. If on you tube it is isolated to the size of the vid box.

I thought i was my drivers so i rolled them back from the 290.53 beta to the 286.62 version but the problem persists.

Monitor is LG2363D.

Any thoughts? Is my GTX460 dying? :(

Thanks

Try the other monitor port on the card. Failing that, try a slightly better DVI cable, not some overpriced £100 Monster Cable crap, but something a bit better than the one provided with the monitor.

The problem is usually caused by devices with weak DVI or HDMI transmitters, the PS3 is the biggest offender, that are technically within spec, though barely, when combined with a cheap cable. While it's true that digital connections either work or they dont, with HDMI and DVI there is a tiny little grey area in the middle where this can happen. Neither the cable or the device are faulty, they're just a bit crap.

Cheaper makes of ATI cards also tend to suffer from it because they have one DVI transmitter built into the ATI chip and the other is external, so one tends to be better than the other. Not sure if this is also true for nVidia.
