I have just had a bottle of Lindemans Shiraz Cabernet Vintage 2005 from ASDA. IIRC it was around £3.50 a bottle..

I can say it is a very good wine. Very fruity, not too heavy goes down very well.

Red wine is my favourite alcoholic drink and I could happily down a bottle a night.
Recently I have found that Autralian Red is far superior to French or even Italian reds. I do have a list of wines I enjoy but alas cannot find it anywhere.

I get my wine from Morrisons mostly where I work. We have a very good Wine and Spirits manager there, she can reccommend good wine and more often that not I agree with her choice.

What do you drink and where do you get it from?

I am looking to find some new wines to sample.

I'm just finishing a bottle of a New Zealand red. Marlborough, Matua Valley Pinot Noir 2004. I found some in Sainsburys reduced to £5.99 :)

Lindemans? Are you joking? If you want a real wine look at some vintage charts and pick up some claret. All Australian wine is utter horse wizz.

I am sorry but I find Lindemans quite a good wine.. for the price you shouldnt grumble. I cant afford some of the £7-£10 bottles.

The Austrailian red`s that I have been drinking recently are very good and have a good body. Im not into wine in such away that I must try everyone..

For me at the moment my W&S manager cant go wrong

Penfolds wine is quite nice.
Especially some of their more expensive ones

have a try of their bin 707s

What is that like? Is is "thin" or a full body tipple?

I get silky smooth texture and strong blackcurrant and rasberry flavours. It is lighter in colour but it's full bodied.

Cheap wine tastes like vinegar imo :(

I couldnt agree more.. although there is a few good wines out there priced at the low sum of £1.99 not many but there is some of you look.

I always wait till the wine at M is on offer before buying it. I would hate to buy full price and find it horrible.. They usually have the £7-£10 bottles on offer at around £4-£6.. Thats good value

any one recommend me some smooth easily qaufable wines?

I usually like merlot.. But soft and easy to drink is the name of the game.

Rosemount estate wines are very very nice also... especially the Merlot ( if you can find any ). :D

If your looking for reds, then I'd suggest you try some South American (especially Chile) wines.

Errazuriz Merlot is lovely, available in all main supermarkets.

Tesco own brand Shiraz is very nice and only £2.99 a bottle.

another vote for Penfolds
defo one of my favourites

I recently tried Penalolen
Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

very nice sophisticated full bodied wine :)
give it a try if u see it

Faustino Rioja VII is one i enjoy going back to, also the V is excellent but not one i can afford to drink too often.

Co-op laid back ruby (?) is a great quaff for only 3.99. I find that price is a very loose indicator of quality, ive had some stinkers that have cost six or seven quid only to buy a 'cheapie' and be bowled over by the quality.
