Yes, Arkane studios. Their last game was Deathloop.

Yes, Arkane studios. Their last game was Deathloop.

Arkane has two separate studios, this one (Austin) made Prey before Redfall.
Deathloop was made in Lyon and made Dishonored 2 before it.

Although the creative director of Prey (Raf Colantonio) left Arkane, so Redfall is headed by Harvey Smith (whose last game was Dishonored 2).

With all my excitement about Star Wars Survivor coming out I'd forgotten this was also on the horizon, pre-loading now, a mere 77GB.

Although with the current state of some of the latest releases it's with some trepidation that I look forward to this release, I'm really hoping it's an exception to the rule and is nicely polished. Arkane's previous games have always been standout for me and are usual a little bit different from the usual releases, hoping this is the same.

Seems to be the developers that have the AAA money behind them that can't get a game past alpha state on release day. Arkane do AAA standard of games, seems indys manage to release in a playable state. Loved Dishonored 1&2 and Prey.

I've just preloaded it on games pass, fingers crossed it turns out to be decent.

These file sizes are getting ridiculous though, it's another case of "third parties" offering a better service in some respects. A big chunk of file size issues are often due to games downloading every available language (among other things), rather than offering people selective download options for elements they'll never use. It's less of an issue for someone like myself, but I know plenty of people with slower internet and even usage caps.
