I'm trying to install red hat 9 on an old machine. It's got a MSI K8N SLI Platinum Motherboard and a 120GB Samsung spin point SATA HD. The installation get to a point and tells me it can't find any hard drives. Any idea how I can get this working?

put the sata controller into compatibility mode. Why use RedHat 9? try Centos 5
No real reason to use redhat, it's just what I’ve used in the past only on different hardware. I'm building an asterisk pbx so I'm open to suggestions. What's the advantaged of using Centos 5? I've heard it's good for asterisk too.

How would one "put the sata controller into compatibility mode?"
