redirected folders not working properly

Hi

I have a Server 2016 GPO to redirect the desktop and documents folder to the server.

When I log on to a client I can see that the documents/desktops are pointing to a folders share and I can see that any files I save are showing on the server share.

However when I log on to another pc even though the documents and desktop are pointing to the server I can't see any of the files.

Even if I manually go to the path \\123-fs\redir$\ish\Documents I can't see any files yet if I look at this folder on the server there are files in there

What could be wrong?
 
Is this when you are logging onto a different PC with the same account, expecting your documents to follow across PC with the redirected folders? Or with a different user?

Make sure the user account has permissions for the files.

Hi Ish

On the client pc check the event viewer for folder redirection errors. That usually tells you what the issue is.

Most of the time for me the error is a permission issue. User cannot write to the location.

Also check that the pc is pulling down the gpo by running gpresult /r on the client pc.
