Redknapp resigns.

Can't be blamed for relegation if he leaves them while completely confident they can survive, obviously the next guys fault for spending so much to make a god awful team that let me think, lost 11 games in a row away from home. Yeah, QPR look completely capable of staying up before you were forced to resign... pillock.

Glad to see him fired but a part of me would have enjoyed seeing him relegated with QPR. He'll manage to not take all the blame for it come the end of the season thanks to friendly english press, or if someone keeps them up they'll find a way to say Redknapp would have done so had he not been forced to resign.

Jumping before he's pushed, most likely.

"Knee operation." :p

My thoughts as well. That, or a strop after not being allowed spend anything in the transfer window. Redknapp has never been a coach. He is a wheeler dealer - take that away and you are not left with mutch.*

*He joined Palace the other day.

All this came just hours after what now seems like increasingly significant tweets from QPR chairman Tony Fernandes, one starting with 'no more cheque book' and another declaring 'given the right motivation, tactics and coaching we can achieve much more'.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like much of a vote of confidence if I'm honest.

Reading Tony Fernandes's Tweets from yesterday I'd guess that Redknapp wanted yet more money and because he didn't get it has now thrown his toys out of the pram, he would've been sacked weeks ago anyway if not for Charlie Austin.

Based on what happened I guess Redknapp thought he could have both Jarvis and Zarate and pay for both their wages and Fernandes told him to do one.

I did like the F365 headline "Knee-jerk reaction to dud deadline day".... not bad.

LOL exactly what I thought when I heard he resigned. He was well on his way to getting sacked but decided to run before Fernandes pushed him.

Funny how he has never mentioned his knee operation before the transfer window shut. Fernandes probably told him that there was no money to be had for him to do his dodgy wheeling and dealing...so probably threw his toys out and resigned.

Found his interview with Jim White of SSN pretty cringeworthy.

Wouldnt be surprised if QPR get relegated and he comes back and takes them back to the PL...making out that he is some sort of footballing manager god lol.

He'd never rejoin them in the Championship unless he was promised huge amounts of cash, I very much doubt he wanted to be there last season when they were very lucky to be promoted in all honesty.

I don't think anyone buys this sob story about his knee (he's been laying it on thick since); I'm sure it is a genuine physical ailment but I don't believe it would have prevented him from seeing out the season. Just upset at not getting his wishes in the transfer market I think and was probably sitting there thinking it is now a lost cause to keep QPR up.
