Redsnapper RSH-12 ball head

Has anyone got one of these? I'm just starting out so picked up a rst-283 and the head for night time exposures.

Anyway. The the head seems quite stiff to pan. But as ive never had a half decent tripod before I've got nothing to compare it against.

Is it normal?

Isn't there a friction nob on the RSH-12? Are you sure you haven't got it tight?

Its like it fully unwound. It rotate a fine just feels stiff. Prob is I don't know if its meant to be likevthat or not. I've emailed red snapper just waiting for a reply.
