Reduce Fraps FPS Loss

Ok so Ive been wanting to record skyrim footage. Testing my Fraps today and I went from 60fps constant to max 60fps-30fps min. Is It the cpu/ram/gpu that is bottlenecking this? Im upgrading my RAM From 1333 to 1600 and CPU to an I5 -3570k and will be overclocking that. Will this help?

One of the biggest things you can do is record to a different hard drive.

Give MSI Afterburner a go, I found it better than FRAPS tbh

Yup... answer is uninstall ****** fraps & install afterburner.

I noticed no FPS loss with afterburner - although it does "cap" your frame rate (you can set what the cap is).

DXtory is also very good, if you have a really fast hard drive or a Raid set up i'd recommend it

I started having odd flickering problems with MSI Afterburner, so decided to go back to Fraps.

At the minute, I'm having problems even getting afterburner to record at all.

Haven't worked out if it's the newest version (223) or my surround setup...

Fraps is the only one that works for me with Skyrim if you use ENB graphics mod though. Thinking about it I haven't tried Afterburner...
