Hi guys. Just wondering what's the easiest way to reduce the size of my video files on my NAS to be able to stream over the net?

I've been trying to play my films on my GF's smart telly but seem to only be able to play films at around 6GB or less. Any more and it just buffers like heck or just refuses to play at all.

My upload speed isn't massively great at around 5.5 Mbps although I would have thought I'd be able to stream the content on my NAS?
Most of the stuff on there is about 16-18 GB for a film.

Ideally I want to reduce the size of my films to around 4-5 GB on average which her telly seems to be able to handle fine.
What's the best converter to do this?

Thanks =)

Thank you!
Free as well which is a bonus :)

Will give it a go when I get home tonight... Hopefully it supports batch processing as have over 300 files to shrink! :o

Can you install Plex on her smart tv?

Install plex server on your nas and let it transcode to a smaller file on the fly

If you have a recent AMD graphics card then Staxrip will likely be quicker than Handbrake. If the TV and other devices can decode HEVC then you could consider re-encoding in HEVC and that will reduce the bandwidth and storage requirements even further.
