I have Windows 7 installed on a 60GB SSD and, after only a month of use, the size of the Windows folder has stretched to a seemingly large 20GB.

The rough breakdown of the folder is:

Any tips on how I might calm things down a little and give my SSD a nit more breathing space?

Many thanks.

You try turning off System Restore, and Hibernate Mode, that will save you a bit of space.

winsxs size is often reported incorrectly. It contains many hardlinks to files elsewhere which are not actually TAKING space.

You may have SP1 files left-over which can be cleaned however.

Run the following from an elevated command prompt:

dism /online /cleanup-image /spsuperseded
