Is there a way of reducing the size of the C:\Windows\Installer folder? I am fixing a machine whose Installer folder is nearly 100gb in size - consuming more than half of the harddrive.

I'm aware of the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, but have used this on my own machine with unsatisfactory results - ie: many programs had to be reinstalled... ;)

Help!

Unfortunately CCleaner won't clean the folder out - I just want the safe to delete files gone, and perhaps free up 80gb!

Manual intervention may be your only option. If you select each MSI/MSP file individually it'll tell you what each installer is used for. The ones which don't correspond to an installed application can generally just be deleted. It's recommended to right-click and use the "uninstall" action first though; this makes sure the package is properly uninstalled.
