Reduction of ports for light weight computer?

When looking to purchase new light weight computers such as Macbook Air, it can be extremely disconcerting to face a reduction of ports. How you guys deal with that?

Solution: Get a slightly thicker laptop that have all the ports needed

I use my monitor as a 4 port usb hub.

You could also get thunderbolt to usb.

make sure everything you use is wireless, every laptop these days has wifi and in most cases bluetooth.... or get a usb hub

Alternatively because the whole idea of a light weight laptop is to reduce the weight of what you have with you so just take less things with you
