It was really disappointing to see the update from Gibbo on this. I completely understand that the supply issue is not an OCUK issue, but the communication regarding it certainly is within OCUK control.
Other than a weekly email giving queue position, most have sat here patiently waiting. However, seeing that any non-allocated stock and the Ti's has been going to the members-only form (that I only found by checking the forum) is a kick in the teeth - I've had an account since 2013, referred multiple other customers, but don't post on the forums - thus out in the cold.
The priority should always be to communicate with those in the backlog and trying to clear those backlogged orders before anything else. While I have ordered the ASUS Strix OC 3080, I would be very open to switching to another card, including paying the upgrade cost to go to a 3080Ti or 3090, or even one of the AMD cards, and I am sure others would too.
Rather than pot luck upgrading cards, or giving forum members cards, why not just offer people in the queue an "I'll take anything" option and offer any non-back order supply to people in the order they pre-ordered? I would not be in a position to benefit from this for a while as was late pre-ordering (end of Oct), but seems giving people who have paid and kept orders the first refusal of un-allocated stock would be more fair? Could even make it max one per customer.
