Having some weird issues with my 980, every so often I get a random grey screen and my card downclocks from it's stock clock to 540 MHZ.

In order to fix it, I have to do a complete restart of my PC.

The newest drivers that released yesterday do not fix the issue.

Another thing I noticed - When I overclock it, and run Heaven for around 2-3 hours everything is smooth, this is with an overclock of 270mhz on the core and 400 on the memory.

When I play certain games, the clock will go back to it's stock clock and wont move from there.

I have no idea what is happening and any help would be great

Temps never go over 75 degrees so it isn't a heat issue.

For example right now - Playing CS GO - Core @ 1500 mhz - grey screen and downclocks to 540 MHZ...

What is the rest of your spec?

I had a similar issue with CSS, it didnt like the down clocking and required a Radeon Pro profile to keep the clocks at max.

Worth a shot!

Ah so it's only an issue in CS? haven't really played any other game the past few days.

Did you ever get a random grey screen and then it downclocks to half it's MHZ mid game?

Specs are -

8350 @ 4.8ghz
8gb corsair vengeance @ 1600
Gigabyte 970A-UD3P
980 GTX
