Reference GTX 980 or custom 970

Not sure if i should buy 2* reference 980's , i presume they will be easier to get a water block for if required also my current case is a corsair 750d and airflow isnt great unless i mod the front panel.
Or do i get a customer 970, is circa £600 vs £800, its not a huge amount of money difference .
Currently i use 1600p, but im likely to get one of the new LG widescreen monitors.

Orderd both, though one is stuck in security validation.
Knowing my luck there will be an issue that isnt fixed till monday and the price has gone up lol.
