In real world terms....how loud is the Reference GTX980?

In comparison to say, my Gigabyte GTX970 G1 which was essentially silent, is therem uch of a difference?

I did some testing the other day, I can only hear it over my case fans at 60%+ fan speed.

My case fans are 180mm Silverstone TJ-08 intake on low, and H80 stock fan at minimum Fanmate voltage as exhaust.
