So my 5870s fan has just started rattling. The card is 6 months old and up until now its been fantastic, running overclocked 900/1300 no problems at stock volts in Overdrive. Bought from OcUK in Jan.
The fan seems like it is catching on the outer cowling of the card. It is mounted in the usual fashion in a tower with the fan facing toward the bottom of the case. The fan has some play in it, as the noise is intermittent and sometimes catches, sometimes its fine, and sometimes when it is catching tapping the fan upwards stops it temporarily.
So is it ok to just RMA it seeing that its been unlocked in Overdrive and overclocked? Not RMA'd anything before so not sure what to do, and could do without the hassle!
Also I closed my OcUK account when I had some suspicious acitivity on my debit card in Feb. It was mainly a precautionary measure but someone used my details to order a laptop from another website with the delivery address in Stoke, so thought I had better be safe than sorry seeing that this website was the only place I had ordered anything close to that time.
Anyway going off topic, just RMA the card if I am able to?
Cheers!
