Referral Links - now allowed?

Thought this community was built on the spirit of helping/sharing with each other - the sudden influx of referral links is actually very saddening I think (i.e. posters on here trying to get something out of us all).

Are they now allowed?

Difference there is that you both benefit from the link - some of the posts in the game deals thread only benefit the poster = not cool.
