Reformat Ipad?

I have an Ipad that I have neglected for well over a year, of course I cannot remember the PIN code, nor can I remember my Apple ID password I set up for it, I have requested a reset but I have had to wait 24 hours?? I got an email now saying that I can get it recovered on the 5th September, like what lol - Is this normal?

I just wanna reformat it really but how do I do that without any logins?

It will be iCloud locked even after wiping so you will need the password whichever route you take.

Once you reset it you can wipe it in recovery mode. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT211078
