Reformat my drive

Sorry for the question but how do i reformat my drive

i always stick a windows xp install disk in and you can do it through that.

I guess, something like free gparted boot cd will do the trick?

we are all in a good mood tonight HA,HA.yes a reinstall of vista 64 iv,e changed round my HD,s reinstalled vista on the HD that was D [is now C]system.but how do i reformat the other HD that iv,e not connected yet[will be D ].THX

I hoped that joining a forum i would get some constructive help and sensible answers looks like i was WRONG,if i knew all the answers i wouldn,t need to be on here WOULD I.

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. Select disk management then right click on the partition you want to format and select the format option. You won't be able to format the partition you booted from this way, but it doesn't sound like you want to do that.

If you want to format a second drive (one that Windows isn't running on) you can do that in Windows. Not familiar with Vista, but have a look around the control panel for something like Administrative Tools.

If this isn't what you mean, could you restate the question? Ignore the others. It can just be a bit difficult to understand someone with English as a second language.
