Refund from PS??

Hey all,

I don't have a PS anymore and thought I cancelled the auto renew for the subs, but app I didn't and got charged £99 for 12 months Playstation Plus, this was on the 24th June so only 5 days ago, I've seen I have 14 days to cancel it and request a refund so I filled in the web support ticket and got a auto response email saying they'll get back to me within 48 hours, 5 days later and still nothing. Does anyone know how long they tend to take to actually get back to people?

Or what I should do next, I cant find a number to ring to talk to someone, I find it annoying they get to keep my money for 5+ days.

Tried it got through to PS5 support but they can't issue refunds and directed me to the support page online that in turn sends me to the Ticket system they seem to have.

Finally got through to someone, said they can do me a refund, then for some reason they couldn't process it, and just asked me to claim a refund through Paypal. :S this is a joke

Claiming a refund through PayPal normally results in your account being suspended. What an odd thing for Sony to say.

Agreed, I didn't go to Paypal for a refund instead I've been pestering Sony for it, the last thing I heard is an email back saying "I’ve now passed your query on to our specialist team for further investigation"

What ever that means?
 
Update.

Still no refund, I have finally got to speak to someone at Sony who has agreed to refund me, tried to refund but couldn't due to an error? he escalated the request further up to get looked at. I heard nothing for 72 hours so I rang again, spoke to someone else who saw the previous person tried to do a refund, she apologized to me and tried to do the refund, again it did not work so she escalated it and said someone will Email me, 72 hours later I've not heard anything so later I rang up again this time with a complaint that Ive been trying for a refund not being able to get one because of an error no one seems to be bothered to do anything about it.

This complaint was escalated lol.. I did however get an email back from a support team who said they cannot refund me due to there being an issue with Paypal and I should log into my Paypal account and look in the resolution center and cancel any refund requests I have with Paypal, I do not or have ever requested a refund from Paypal for anything, so I rang Sony again to explain this, I was told to ring Paypal and ask them to check the account for issues.

I rang Paypal and the woman was very helpful she said there's nothing on the account that could stop Sony from refunding, she also opened a case within the resolution center for Sony to just accept liability then I'll get my refund through Paypal she also said that Sony have 10 days to respond to the request if they do not then I'll automatically get the refund as they'll side with the buyer GREAT I thought, I'll let Sony know they can accept the refund request and I'll have my money, I rang Sony spoke to someone that put the message on the system and escalated it up for someone to review, 8 days later and nothing.

So by this coming Wednesday I should have my refund not because of Sony but because of Paypal, this whole interaction with Sony has 100% put me off buying anything Sony, they are fast enough to take your money but damn hard to get the money back from, IF there is a genuine reason on Sony's part and they cant refund me due to something being wrong with Paypal on their end why don't they have a way to refund to a different payment method? This refund has dragged on for almost 4 weeks I find this unacceptable.

Anyway I'll update in a few days. :S
 
Sounds like a nightmare, I've known so many that haven't had anything in terms of a refund from playstation or xbox

The worst bit is trying to explain all this to someone different everytime I ring Sony lol. but I can see why a lot of people just give up and let Sony have the money it's a lot of hassle and if it wasnt almost £100 I prolly would have given up.

My only option is see what Paypal end up doing, if that fails I'll pop into the bank and see if I can do a charge back. absolutely no point in ringing Sony anymore as I don't feel they are willing or able to help.

Ugh, I had a feeling that would happen. Anything to do with PayPal and Sony chucks a suspension out. It's why I will not use anything other than pre-paid cards from ShopTo/Amazon now.

Something I'll have to start doing from now on I think with gift cards, I don't feel like im in the wrong tho, I've not out of the blue tried to get some money back, I've been in contact with Sony for weeks trying to get a refund, I can only hope whoever looks at the case 'IF it gets looked at' decide it's unfair, gutted to lose the account but looks like at the moment I'm exclusive to Xbox and PC from now on :S

They have been like this for years.... getting an actual refund from anything psn is practically impossible.
