Quick question if anyone can help...
If I've got an Xbox 360 game from a large highstreet computer/console shop but I don't have the receipt, can I still take it back for a refund?? I have Mass Effect still in its shrink wrap but no receipt. I paid cash, what are my chances??

YES. If it wasnt too long ago and they remember you OR you can remember the day and time you bought it. (because then they can provide their copy of the receipt)

i guess you lost the receipt or they didnt give you one?

NO, well not under the SOGA as the item isnt faulty or not fit for its purpose, after all how can it be as it hasnt been opened

If you bought it using a credit/debit card or used a rewards card you might be able to.

I lost the recipt for Miss K's 360 but used my rewards card at purchace. I phoned the stores rewards card helpline (on card) and told them my sad story, they asked when I bought it and from where. I told them is was late december (before Xmas) and where the store was. They gave me a transaction number and the date of the sale and told me to give those to the store manager and it will be fine.

If you didn't use a rewards card, its possible to call your bank and get them to give you a transaction number to use when you call the Stores Customer support and use that to trace their transaction number.

Cash sale. Sorry your screwed.

wasnt thinking about the SOGA at all..
i dont know a store that doesnt take games back that are unopened (still in shrinkwrap etc), within a reasonable time, lets put it that way. Most have policies on this.
