I know, I know. I've only just bought a MBP now I want another one..

..anyway, are these worth it? As far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be much risk other then the product might be scratched.

Only I've seen a refurbed mac pro..

Two 3.0GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors
1GB (2 x 512MB) memory (667MHz DDR2 fully-buffered DIMM ECC)
250GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7200-rpm hard drive
16x SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics with 256MB memory
..which seems pretty damned cheap for a Mac Pro?

graphics would let you down. Not sure how common how compatible 8800's are? But otherwise you could upgrade the ram and hdds easily enough and job done.

Refurbished Macs are always in A+ condition.

The only thing missing is the original box, it will just come in a plain box.

You'd be silly to choose a brand new one over a refurb with Apple stuff.

Isn't that maybe 2 x dual-core rather than quad core as the rest of the components are from the previous generation Mac Pro?

Thought I'd research that and seems the first 8-core was the 2 x 3ghz.

Corrected, I stand!
