Refurbished H80

I have just installed the H80 but when i come to install the second fan closest to the CPU. I am 110% sure the screw will go into the fins 2-3mm.

Is this normal and why is it happening ?.

This is the screw sitting on the fins

I went to the DIY shop and got 8 washers, I needed 4 washer each screw so i only have it fixed on 2 screws.

With my old H80 I put them in with no problem,but you cant go wrong with some washers if your not sure.

I agree, I could not risk breaking the radiator and it leaking all over.

The improvement over my NH D14 is not very good, NH-D14 55c AND THE H80 is 65c.

Basically the screws will mash the fins a bit, as long as it doesn't drive into one of the flat tube veins, it will not leak. It looks better without the washers obviously but if it worries you then the washer solution is good (or cut the screws). Seen this problem many times and never had one leak and i do not bother with washers/cutting the screws down.

Wait wait , I have a full set of screws for the H80 if you want them mate? I have had 8 h80's and have screws spare here. If you need them I will gladly post them to you.
