Regarding the 290X Waterblocks

So I have my 290X + waterblock arriving tomorrow and I'm wondering.

What's the difference between:

The one I bought:

and

apart from the material, the latter has a small extended part on the end of it.. what's this for? Is it mainly for Aesthetics? Or is it actually passively cooling something the one I purchased isnt?

Its aesthetics.

Just fit my block today and got my rig together, you will be pleased to know that the heatsink removal of the 290x is much easier than some cards i previously have tried, not one screw was thread locked!.

Have a 360 + 240 radiators cooling CPU, VRM, NB, RAM and the 290x.

Idol is getting me temps of no more than 27c.

Phew that's a relief, nice temps Avenged, got me all excited now

~ I'm planning to run it at stock for about a week before I attempt any overclocking, also I heard that people are still waiting on Voltage tweaking to become unlocked on apps like afterburner.

Either way I'm definitely looking forward to getting it all fitted and see how my temps are after getting these SLI 480's out of my loop

I'm running a 360 + 120 + 140 so cooling should definitely be sufficient

I am running stock atm, dont want to fail flashing my GPU bios when i don't even need the extra fps atm.
