Hi, I've just built a PC for a relative using the Akasa Zen case. There seems to be a flaw in the build? On installing the optical drive behind the first steathed bay, as soon as you hit the button to eject the drive, you can't close it again because the flap comes down and blocks you from pushing the button.

So instead, I've just dismantled the flap so that I can actually close the optical drive using the button instead of using force to push it back in.

It's a shame because the build quality is very good... unless there's just something wrong with my case?

Yup exactly the same problem with mine, its an amazing case, cheap, well made, good included stuff and in white it looks very nice.

The only letdown is that damm fixed cd drive bezel, (although you can push it back in from my experiance). :(

You just nudge the drive tray with your hand it closes. That's how they work. You don't have to press the button to close it again. Just tap the tray and it closes.

Yep, ive got an akasa zen and I've always just given the cd tray a nudge and it closes by itself. Always done this with all my dvd/cd roms tbh

Same here. Like hell am I going to get off of my chair so I can reach the button :p
- my arm isn't bendy enough to reach around the tray to the button !

Ah OK... I used to do that a lot but I always thought by doing that, it'll just damage the mechanism.

A question however... do you believe that this case is a better buy than the Antec NSK4400 (w/out PSU)? As they're both going for about £30. Although the Akasa can cater for 2x120mm fans.

Just looking for a cheap £30-£35 case to replace my scrappy Coolermaster one...

No, you won't damage the drives - they are designed like that.

I personally think the Akasa is a better case but the Antec is also pretty decent for the money. For me the better cooling would swing it towards the Akasa. My firm did a bunch of workstations for a graphic design company using white Zens to match their existing Mac monitors. If they had looked like PCs the designers would all have walked out. I think that's a huge plus point for the Zen - it looks like a Mac!
