Did anyone else go to see Regina Spektor the other night? Or anywhere else?
She was amazing, unbelievably note perfect, everyone was just in awe...

Best gig I've ever been to so far I have to say. She's perfect in every way.

Went on thursday in manc. Unfortunately it was at academy 1, which is just about the worst venue in the country, but she was still totally amazing.

Have to agree, most other gigs haven't even come close to matching it

Saw her last year in Leeds, and yeah, she's ace isn't she. Utterly amazing voice.

I was wracking my brains recently trying to remember who it was supporting her then. Some American solo guy, was fairly talkative and quite entertaining.

And yeah, what's bad about the Academy? (I haven't been there before). I actually thought she would have been at the Apollo for some reason

academy is fine for a rock gig, though still a bit poo unless you can get to the front ish. Though for the kind of set Spektor (and Ryan Adams who I last saw there) plays, the acoustics are poo and unless you are right up close it doesn't sound too good imo.

Maybe I am just spoiled because I could directly compare it to Bridgewater Hall (for anothe Adams gig), and basically there is no competition.

Yeah, I don't think it sold out, was kind of a last minute spur of the moment thing, I didn't have to be in til 10am the next morning, so just popped down to manc.

It was meant to be at Academy 3 or 2, but demand meant it went up to the bigger venue. I doubt she would have filled the Apollo though
