Hey guys,

Got my XF in September and it only occurred to me after Christmas that I'm yet to receive the V5 for it. I called the dealership who insisted that they sent it off the week I purchased it so not a lot they can do.

I've had a look quickly on the DVLA website to see if it's possible to register without having it but I couldn't see anything on there, it all mentions need the a number inside the document.

Am I missing something? I called the DVLA who said now I've called I now have to wait a further 3 weeks before calling again just incase it doesn't arrive in that time, which seems bloody bizarre given it's already been 4 months.

Thanks guys

Just wait and call again later like they said? It doesnt really affect anything - you can tax it and insure it without

Well I know that, but I'd rather sort it out now than wait on the DVLA. As my experiences with them in the past have been awful and rage inducing, so if I can avoid dealing with them again I'd prefer it.

Are there no legal repercussions of it not being registered in my name though in the mean time?

For example, I'm telling my insurance it is in my name, so if I ever need to make a claim, could that be grounds to void my insurance?

No, you have the new keeper supplement so insurance is completely valid and the car is legally yours

Ok :) thanks.

As long as that's the case, I'm not bothered. I'm going to be getting a Jag as my next car anyway in future so the same dealership that lost it/didn't send it can worry about it when I trade it in :p

Well dont forget about it for that long, but they can take a few weeks and having christmas/new year in the middle will have slowed it down. If you dont have it in a few weeks then chase it up but dont worry about it for now
