Registry woes...

I have a major issue with a Netgear wireless USB dongle and it's drivers.

Original drivers have been uninstalled but the system locks when trying to reinstall new driver.

Regedit point blank refuses to remove the Netgear references from the Registry. Also have tried this in safe mode.

Have also ran MSConfig to remove any memory resident driver files, have ran Enditall and shut everything down. Have tried regclean, reglite, reg drill nothing, still cannot remove the Netgear entries.
Netgear do not have an answer either, other than to wipe and re-install the OS.

There must be a purge tool somewhere?????

Any suggestions gladly received!

Export all the netgear entries to a file

Change all the values to blank and re-import it, reboot and delete the entries

Fixed my registry problem and the system is working!

Decided to use my Boot CD UBCD4 to see if there were any tools on there, turns out there was.

Registry Editor PE from SourceForge is great. It open the regstry in it's native Hive format, 4 different files, SAM. Security, Software, System.

Looks like you can use it within Windows itself but you have to enter a user profile if using it that way.
