I'm regrading to MAX (tomorrow according to F2S) :D

At present I have a 2Mbps service with:

SNR: 31.5
Attenuation: 20

What sort of speeds should I get (or is it more like a suck it and see type thing?)

And are my SNR and Att figures any good? (i.e. after a regrade should I still get reasonable connectivity?)

Thanks

It is. This might give some clues (as well as the BT checker), but ultimately the only way to know for sure is try it and see.

Yes.

Wow thanks for the mucho fast reply Tolien :)

According to that 8192kbps

EDIT:

Guess I shoudl also read the FAQ  (at myself)

You've got very similar stats to mine.
Since I was regraded to MAX at midnight Sunday/Monday I've been sync at 8mb although actual data rate has varied.
My SNR is now around the 15db mark, it was at 30db before the regrade.
The magic number is 6db as far as I can work out - so you should be fine for 8mb (well 7.8 after overheads etc).

Just remember there is more than a good chance you'll see no major speed difference for your fist 3 days.
There is a chance you'll see nothing major happen for 10 days.
Just get ready to be patient while BT's equipment and your modem/router do all their chatting and decide what is best for your line.

WhenI checked this morning I'm currently synched at 8Mb downstream and 450K upstream.

My line stats have dropped though

SNR:
12

ATT:
Unchanged

Pings have gone up a bit though :(

Was around 15ms when playing last night, now 56ms (still within playable range I guess)

I'm glad I rad this thread; am getting max on Thursday and was expecting instant improvement with the speed increase.

How come if line has been increased to say 6mb from 2mb you wont see instant improvement - and when can you?

Noise Margin 29 dB 29.5 dB

Output Power 12 dBm 20 dBm

Attenuation 31 dB 48 dB

Out of the above figures I have gotten out of this Belkin router, which is the SNR?

Thanks for the help
