I bought a Samsung s20 ultra which I now regret. I actually like the phone just can't get on with android. Its little things that are stupid but things I notice everyday.

Anyway does anyone have the iPhone se? Is it any good? I am thinking of this till the 12 is out and upgrade.

I would just keep on with the s20 until 12 is out. I had a similar experience with Android, so many things bug me but I grew into it a little. I will still upgrade but I can manage a few months.

That being said, the SE is really good. As long as you're okay with the design, nothing beats it in that price range.

I have had it since end of march and its getting worse lol. I do actually like the design and I miss touch id. I had a 7 plus then went to xs max but I missed touch id.

I do struggle to understand why people buy non pixel/oneplus android phones. Their skins and added apps are what annoy me the most.

Samsungs tend to be the go-to phones from people trying a move away from ios. It rarely ends well.

I'd think about selling it before it loses you too much money. If you still have your old phone, great. If not, could you get one as a stop gap till October then get an iPhone 12?

Or as another idea, try a oneplus 8?

This guys says what I've been saying for years (apart from I'd say the pixels and oneplus would be exempt)

I’ve never seen him before and what a nicely presented video that is.

He doesn’t sound American but he shows Apple Pay Cash which we don’t have over here. I really wish we did, it would be very useful.

I did chuckle when he said that something had solved a problem he didn’t know he had!

I used to think he sounded a bit smug, but now I count him as a prime source of tech reviews.

Re: the video, it's not uncommon to find tech reviewers do an "I'm switching to Android!!! Here's why!!" video and a short time later do an "I'm switching to iOS!!! Here's why!!"
follow up.

That's true, he does make some good points though

First of all the video above I watched a few days ago and found my self nodding along to his points. But for me google maps is worse than apple maps, I use my phone for work and the other day it refused to call out for at least an hour, I'm on o2 and asked other people around me on same network and theirs was fine. A couple of times while it has been on my in car charger it stopped charging as it was too hot (never had this happen with iPhones). The other stuff is just personal preference stuff.

There are some good points in the video, but the whole 'Samsung gallery wasting space by storing pictures as well as Google photos' was an odd one. He either doesn't know how this works or hasn't explained himself very well.

I find myself thinking about jumping to iOS more recently buy to every pro I think of in favour of iOS can think at least the equivalent number of cons (for me anyway).

Surely his point is “why is Samsung wasting space on my phone by installing a redundant gallery app I cannot remove?”

To answer your question on whether the iPhone SE is any good, I’ve picked one up while my XS Max is being repaired or places by insurance. To be honest, if can live with the smaller screen, large bezels and average-at-best battery life then I’d say it’s a great phone.

For me the major con of iOS is Apple refusing to allow emulators, so you have to do janky methods to get them on your phone.

Android is a much simpler experience if you just wanna play some old games on a fantastic screen.

My youngest is very happy with her 2020 SE which replaced her fading and fail iPhone 6. The SE is an 8 on the outside and an 11 inside; all for a sensible price.

C'mon, I understand people having a preference on OS and design. But if there are two things that really aren't debatable in the Apple battles, it is that Siri and Maps are both inferior. How can you compare maps when google practically map the world? :|
