Hey guys, my pc is starting to slow up, think I made some dodgy installs....so going to go for a full install of windows on my windows HDD

Basically I want to wipe it all, and reinstall...which means ill just disconnect my other two HDDs, which just contain work and music...but then the problem is...how do I wipe my windows HDD, when it will be the only one im using, cause I cant format the only one....so how do I do a fresh install of windows with just one drive...if I put in the CD on boot, everything just loads up as per norm

Thanks Jay

If it loads up as normal on boot with the cd in then you have to change the boot priority to the cd drive instead of the hard drive. When you boot into the setup utility you choose which hard drive to install on and from there you can partition it etc. When you go to install it the hard drive will be formatted and that will clear all the old data.

so you have 3hdd...2 of which contain music and other stuff and the other one has windows on it?

1.go into bios and set "first boot device" to cd rom and save bios settings..
2. insert windows cd into cd rom drive.
3. when it loads up choose to install windows
4.then go ahead and run a fresh install..

btw this post is in the wrong section....
