Reinstall OS w/ new memory??

Is it a good idea to reinstall your OS upon putting new ram in a system?
I've just got some Corsair TwinX PC4400 from our very own Members Market and my system BSOD's everytime.. even when trying to boot at a default 2Ghz for my 170 and even with the mem running at 100Mhz..

Would a reinstall resolve this situation?

Are there any known compatability issues with a Lan Party SLI-DR and Corsair XMS 4400C25PT RAM??

I've since sent them back and recieved a refund.. excellent service from the seller.. Now got my eye on some 2GB Redline...
