reinstalled windows 10 Home, lock screen now wont disable

Hi all

Lock screen (image) and password i want removed, so i dont have to enter my password every 2 mins i reboot

if i disable the lock screen under personalisation, nothing happens



googling not really helping me


any ideas ?

Start - Run - or (Windows Key + R) type "netplwiz" without quotes - uncheck "Users must enter a password blah blah blah" click apply, now enter your password twice into the box that pops up, click OK, and reboot.
 
bringing this back up, because i have another issue :(

When i either turn on computer or Restart now,
i get "incorrect username and password"
i have to click on the button to log in with my email and password

how do i get this to auto log in again ?


Also note, now and again i used to get a message (for example, logging into Xbox live/Forza) it would say "password changed" re enter your password

im the only person / computer that plays games

i guess my mum could be playing things like cards or something, so probably not xbox pass
 
Microsoft account would generally be your email address, where as local would be like a user name
 
so im now entering password every time

So i gone back into Netplwiz and anticked the box and it asked me to do a new password, which i did

rebooted PC and the new password does not work
so i logged in with the old password (using email address log in and not username) and i could get in

so i still have to put a password in every time i boot the PC
 
I feel your pain - I'm having to put in a PIN every time I boot into Windows - what is the simplest way of getting rid of this all together and just having the laptop boot into Windows without having to put in a password OR PIN?

I've tried running netplwiz and unticking the box but then instead of forcing me to put a PIN in, it's forcing me to put my Hotmail password in???

You've entered the wrong password or the passwords didn't match in NETPLWIZ option. re-enable password on login, and then run netplwiz again and make sure you go slowly, that should sort it. I've done this a few times myself ;)
 
Bring as i already had it ticked again
I un ticked it, asked me to put in a new password, which i did

rebooted PC, says can not connect at this time
so i clicked on it, entered my new password, says its incorect
put the old one in, and it worked

just about to reboot again
