Finally got my hands on a Mac for Christmas, and after a week of using it, I'm finally finding my way around. I'd like to reinstall the OS, just to have a clean start, as I've heard it comes with a lot of drivers etc that aren't really needed.
I've had Time Machine running, so I have a few backups of my Hard Drive, with all my documents, music, pictures etc on, now my question is, can I just use the "Erase and Install" option, then run Time Machine after the fresh install to retrieve documents etc? Or should I just back up the hard files onto the External Drive, then copy them across after.
