I'm running Vista x64 and for some reason, as it was coming out of hibernation, I got a BSOD and memory dump which resulted in me having to run startup repair from the disk to get the machine back up and running.
Problem is, now several programs fail to start with varying error messages.
Windows Live messenger was not recognised as a compatible Windows application, managed to fix this by reinstalling.
Photoshop fails to start and can't be uninstalled (something is corrupt) and a few other progs.
Biggest issue though, is Media Player won't work at all: "wmp.dll is not designed to run on Windows or contains an error", "Do you want to install the player from the Microsoft Website" etc
but when you go on the site, there are no links for Vista MP.
Can't seem to remove it anywhere in control panel either or reinstall from disk. I'd rather not reinstall Windows so is there a quick fix??
Cheers
