Hi,
My Win7 installation on my SSD has gone mental lately, experiencing very frequent blue screens, screen freezes etc. tried all sorts to fix it but no luck, so going to format & reinstall Windows.

Its installed on a Samsung SSD (c:) and I have a 1TB HDD (f:) that I use for program installs, data etc.

Obviously my programs that are installed on f: won't work once the new install is done because all the reg entries will be lost, so I'll have to reinstall them. My question is, whats the easiest way of removing the old installed programs from the f: drive?

Should I go through the Windows Add/remove programs tool and uninstall them properly (take forever) or is it ok to just go in and manually mass delete all the programs files & folders?

Cheers
Pete

It's ok to delete the folder and even format the drive. To the new install they'll just be random files, it won't even appear as programs in the program list.

Ok thanks.

I don't want to format the drive, its got about a TB worth of films, music & pics on! Just need the programs folders gone so I can reinstall them.

Next question... whats a good utility program to transfer large amounts of files & folders. My data is on f:, I want to copy it all to e: to back it up. Rather than manually copying & pasting folders & having to wait for it to finish til I do the next one, is there a program I can use that will allow me to go through the drive and checkbox all the files & folders I want to copy to e:, then copy it?
