I'm looking to buy a new hard drive for my pc and I'll need to reinstall windows 7 on it.I have a genuine license but I don't have the disc. Would it be possible to download the iso and mount it on a cd and enter the key during installation or would it be easier to clone the old hard drive onto the new drive?

Well if you want the ISO, then HERE. But you can clone the hard drive, and mount the image on the new drive, I use Acronis.

Cloning is perhaps easier, or find someone with the appropriate disc. I would not download from torrents or the like as they can be riddled with virii.

But cloning won't get rid of unwanted crud so fresh install will be better, once you've suffered the hassle of reinstalling everything.

Personally I choose the reinstall method, but swings and roundabouts.
