Hello all

I'm a newbie at this sort of stuff so excuse me if this is a silly question but I just reinstalled windows and it occoured to me that my cpu may not be overclocked anymore because that clears everything. Is this the case?

Thanks

If you overclocked via the BIOS then no, the overclock should still be there. If you overclocked using software then it may not be there after reinstall. A reinstallation of Windows just clears data on the harddrive hence it depends on what you used to overclock your cpu.

Re-installing Windows won't affect the BIOS or the overclock if done through the BIOS.

If it was overclocked before you re-installed it'll be overclocked after you re-installed.

You shouldn't need to do anything.

Just have CPU-Z running while you stress the processor (with Prime95 for example) and you'll see what speed the processor jumps to.
