Hi,

Trying to reinstall windows on a Gateway Laptop (I know terrible!!!)

So after performing 100's of reinstall I finally meet a challenge...

After the initial load screen and when you press Enter to install windows I receive the following error message "setup could not find a hard drive"...And it only provides the F3 option to quit...

What is happening? Is the harddrive dead? Cant be because I can get into the desktop fine and navigate around...

So why am I receiving this message?

Please help

Thanks

the harddrive does not have the correct sata driver...

so i need a floppy usb drive which holds the driver so during setup when i press f6 i can point to the correct location...

surely there must be another way?

i have downloaded the driver required from Gateway website but to open it I need a floppy drive...

I wonder if its available already extracted? Its the intel driver...

This is the precise driver I require:-

File Description: Gateway(r) Notebook Computer Intel SATA Support Driver
Version: D00455-001-001
Operating System: Microsoft(r) Windows(r) XP Tablet OS
Part Number: D00455-001-001.exe
Date: 03/28/2006

When I downloaded this driver from Gateway website the readme file advised me to open F6flpy32.exe file located inside which further extracts to release the driver...

Regretably due to not owning a floppy drive I cannot do this, I therefore wonder if anyone has this driver in particular the F6flpy32.exe already extracted that they could email or upload for me?

Thanks in advance..
