There was a petition to protect the name "Engineer". Doctor, Nurse, Accountant, Architect are protected names in this country. Something as important as Engineer should also be protected. A garage mechanic can call him self an engineer.

What made me laugh was a post on here some time ago. A user on these boards does MOT, and so calls himself a Mechanical Engineer.
