Hey all wonder if someone could help please. Has anyone had any REL subs before or know anyone that has. The reason why I ask I was going to purchase the REL T ZERO sub for my Ruarks. Ruark have tested there MR1's with the REL in testing when there speakers first came out and said it sounded great. Im after a sub the MR1's do pack a fair punch of bass but don't wanna risk them to much as there woofers ain't the biggest so its future proof and to look after them really with a sub

Rel make good subwoofers. Also consider BK. The Gemini II has a 10" driver, compared to 6.5" in the T Zero. 6.5" in a subwoofer will be somewhat limited I would have thought.

BK also used to be the OEM manufacturer for REL. My old man uses a REL quake that's been doing fine for years, but the BK subs would offer far more value for money.

Thanks for the replys :). Im not to sure. All I know really is that the rel t zero was the only sub tested with the MR1's. And a few reviews have said its an excellent combination

A sub doesn't have a sound signature so it really doesn't matter, it's either a good sub or not, and BK make excellent subs.

When only one subwoofer is tested with a set of speakers, it's impossible to say how it compares to other subwoofers paired with those speakers. Ruark may have said the T Zero sounds great, and I'm sure it does, but without testing others that doesn't make MR1 + T Zero the best combination, it just makes it the only combination that they tried.

If Ruark had tried a lot of different subwoofers within that price range, and found the T Zero was the best match for the MR1, then that would be different.

However, if other reviews also thought the T Zero was a great match, then that does lend weight to what Ruark said.
