Personally I find the best way to mix is through new friends, just meet new people and meet newer people through those people until you have a healthy social network.

I think the biggest challenge for making yourself attractive is believing in yourself. I know it sounds like a cop out but the biggest attraction is self assurance. If you are happy with yourself people will be happy with you, if your insecurities shine through too much then you make others feel insecure. Attraction is like an AOE buff, if you cast it they will come. Passive racial attractiveness is a cool trait, but not all of us had our skillpoints in that tree at birth.
