mate of mine has just started a relationship with a lovely young lady. shes 16 and he's 20.

now he is concerned of what people are saying behind his back.

what are your thoughts??

Well I dated a 30 year old for a time. It didn't seem to have issues, but there were cracks appearing. It kinda lost its appeal when she started talking about kids and marriage and early retirement.

At those ages though I doubt it makes a difference.

I was 23 when I got with my partner who was 16 at the time, just.
2 Years on, we're still together and have a little baby together.
I guess it's about the individuals involved, their maturity and if they're both happy, don't let other people drag you down.
Helps if you're liked by your partner's father too.:rolleyes:

It all totally depends on the girl in question and there are no hard and fast rules but in my experience this will not be a lasting relationship because they will both be hitting different stages of their life at different times.

It totally varies.

I think a 20 year old with a 16 - 17 year old is fine. But when you see 30 year olds with like that same younger age group i start thinking its abit strange.

i only ask as i am going through the same lol.

there is a girl i met the other night. she was working at a party i went to . ended up talking to her etc. shes still at school and just 16... just wondered what the general thoughts where.

i guess theres never anything to lose but plenty to gain ;) lol

I was talking about this with a colleague yesterday, and I think an age gap makes less of a difference the older you both get. e.g 28 and a 39 yr old, not that big a deal.

PK!

Maybe not at first. My wife is older than me by quite a few years. It was great at first but now she has hit her forties she seems to have got very boring and as a younger guy this is starting to become and issue.

Doesn't mean it won't work just be aware there can be issues. A four year age gap isn't really a gap anyway.

Thought it was a mate of yours? ;)

I got with my girlfriend when I'd just turned 19, and she was 16. I was worried about her parents but I'm a nice guy and they were cool so it went ok.

Still together now, 3 years on.

So you want to be in a relationship where none of those issues gets discussed? For a women 30 is getting to the time where if she doesnt have kids in the next 10 years she wont have them (most likely), hardly selfish on her part.

Cant see what the problem is with age so long as its legal and you get on who cares what other people think.

If you're talking about the physical/sexual side of things then, not to get too personal, but older women are much better. 30+ for example.
That said, the 30+ women also offer a lot more intellectually, a lot lot more - companionship, friendship and conversation.

That kinda puts the dampers on my own missus there.

edit: not saying all women under 30 cannot offer this, just basing on my own experience.
