Looks like they've changed the Super-series FE colour to black

I guess it was the white tax for the logo that was jacking the prices all along.

They wouldn't dare! That would be very unlike Nvidia to intentionally reduce avaialble stock.

The green machine just doing its thing:p. Intentionally remove stock from sale just before the announcement, cause some FOMO and stir up some more and BAM you have sales on super cards.

On a serious note, im more interested in how AMD is gonna respond to this. Wouldn't mind bagging a cheap 7800xt or 7700xt for cheap for another project.

AMD immediately also go out of stock and then start to sell a 7950XTX for $1299.

But also seriously - I wouldn't grabbing a cheaper 7700XT/7800XT to whack in a portable Formd T1 build to take with me when I have to travel for work. Semi tempted by the 4070 if the prices do end up dropping a little more.

Same, every time i go and grab a AMD card i get this overwhelming feeling that prices will drop cos its AMD so i wait then never end up getting one .

The 4080 is being discontinued and likely ceased production months and any existing stock repurposed to the supers.

A faster card for less money is more tempting for some but no doubt it will still be sitting around the £1100 mark after uk tax and what not for AIB cards.

Still looks awfully unappealing as a refresh.

The best one will probably be the 4070ti super at around £800 but I won’t be buying one and would rather take my chances with the 50 series at this point.

Wonder how many purchasers of 4070 and 4070 ti and 4080 are right now in the middle of doing an RMA return or 30 days return so they can get the latest card. Funny thing is they all knew in advance that the new cards were coming in January. Waiting for the sob story threads to appear - evil retailer not taking my card back after I have used it for 1 to 20 months

The saying “once bitten twice shy” comes to mind.

I am looking to upgrade my 2070 Super.
So many options 4070/4070 Super/4070 Ti/4070 Ti Super!
I dont like the idea of spend more than £500 ish so I expect 4070 or 4070 Super.

I'm in a similar position, albeit I have a 2080 Super. I really want the new shiny, but I'm telling myself I should wait for the 5XXX cards as it could be my last upgrade for years!

Utterly depressing how much GPU's cost now. I've set myself a £350 budget for a 2nd hand GPU - still on a 1080Ti which is starting to show it's age now.

At this rate I think i'd just rather buy a PS5 as PC components are just getting too expensive.
Huh? With the exception of RT, your 1080 Ti is still at least on par with the PS5 GPU. If anything it just shows how great value PC really is. If you got it on release you had top tier performance (far above the PS4/XB1) for 3 years before the new consoles, then another 7-8 years (assuming it doesn't die) of on-par performance with the new consoles. To say nothing of the money that could've been made mining during those periods (even if only when you sleep & aren't using it).

Going to a console you're going to give up a LOT in features/performance/utility and then be nickel and dimed to way above what you'd pay for a PC upgrade anyway. It just makes no sense.

A second hand 3080 12GB for £350-400 or even a 3090 for around £500 would be a big jump in performance for both of you, especially in Ray Tracing.
