On our Virgin media house phone line we have Anonymous Caller Rejection.

If i try and phone home using my mobile which has the number withheld it wont allow me to connect because of the withheld number,Does anyone know what numbers i have to put infront of my home number on the mobile so it will release my number to the home phone..allowing me to get through?

i did have it before but cant remember what the number was as i changed phone :p

That's to hide your number is it not? The opposite of what the OP wants to do.

I'd assumed doing nothing revealed your number and you have to do something to hide it.

Might be 140 then. I know it's something like that because I used to have to use it when calling my parents from my landline (ex-dir)

Edit: Google suggests it's 1470 to temporarily un-hide a phone number.

Ahh OK, I'd always assumed that sending your number was the default and you had to do something to hide it. Also, doesn't ex-directory just mean you aren't listed in the phone book and not that your number is automatically hidden when you make a phone call?

Bizarre that you are withholding your number. Surely if your ringing home you could just turn caller id back on for the call if you need to withhold your number constantly.

All I know is I asked for ex-dir number on connection and it didn't show when I called people. I was with BT at the time, whether it was an option that was chosen for me or not I don't know.

My work phone has caller withheld automatically and I can't change it - part of the reason I always use my personal phone.
