Reliable apps for monitoring temps/volts

Just starting my first ever overclock (2500K+Z68X-UD3H), here's a screenie after 2 hours prime95blend @ 4.4GHz:

Temps seem to be consistent between apps (but NOT between cores :( have I got 3 "hot" cores or 1 "cold" one??). I'd probably trust RealTemp as that is all it monitors, but Everest and HWMPro are within 1-2 degrees.

As for voltages, what do I trust? I think Vcore is set at 1.325V in BIOS (playing it safe), but every app gives a different reading!

(Everest gave a warning about not being optimised for Sandybridge, so I'll ignore that for now. 3.3/5/12V are way off too.)

EasyTune6 seems to be the best guide, at least DRAM/3.3/5/12V are good, so I'd guess "CPU" is Vcore, and 1.344V is reasonably close. (But it doesn't manage memory so well - it reports one DIMM at 667MHz and the other at 4333MHz! - both are at 800MHz.)

CPU-Z shows 1.056V - is this just the standard Vcore for 3.3GHz (ie not actually monitored)?

HWMPro shows 1.34V for "CPU" (which matches ET6), although it labels "CPU VCORE" as 1.06V - just wrong labels? It shows +12V as 2.69V, so I don't really trust it at all. It also monitors current/power, which would be useful if I thought it was anywhere near accurate.

Soooo.... which one to believe? Or should I ignore them all and try something else (freeware ideally). ET6 should be trustworthy as it's Gigabyte's own app (although the memory tab gives me different info every time). Everyone seems to use CPU-Z, but is this just for validating GHz and not voltages? Any suggestions appreciated.

I don't trust software for reading voltages, as I have a similar problem to you were my 12v line is 3v.

The temps could be down to the cooler not installed correctly or the CPU heat spreader is not completely flat.

I just use HW monitor. I don't really pay attention to voltages as I haven't found anything reliable yet. I use my G19 applet to view the CPU temp.

Open Hardware Monitor, has a nice gadget and graphs as well.

Cheers for the link, nice app and the "gadget" is ideal. :) Time to abandon Everest on this PC, it's been really useful in the past but doesn't like Sandybridge. :(

Think I'll stick with ET6 for CPU/DRAM volts, CPU-Z for GHz, and RealTemp for core temps. Shame I can't integrate them into one "gadget", rather than using 75% of my desktop.

Anyway, back to the overclocking for me (haven't started on memory or iGPU yet), I'm sure I'll have more n00b questions soon...
