Reliable/Stable router for an elderly person

One of my elderly family members can now get FTTP, the cost is less than what they're currently paying for Mobile Internet (Down 1Mb/s and Up 0.2Mb/s with 100GB Limit), with FTTP they'll get 600/300. It's only a 1 bedroom flat, the authentication is done via DHCP and the ISP provides an ONT. The router doesn't need to be anything fancy, I would prefer something reliable/stable with WiFi 6, setup and forget.

I wouldn't mind paying a bit more extra for adguard support.

I would use whatever router the ISP provides. Also, 600/300 is overkill for an elderly users, a lower speed would be perfectly fine.
 
What are her ISP options? Pretty certain 95% of ISPs provide their own router, and for her low requirements I’d find one that does.

No point signing up to an edge-case ISP that doesn’t provide one, when there are plenty of good ones that do.

I agree, but there are a few issues. Out of the two ISPs available, only one seems to have good reviews. They don’t provide a router but instead offer type 6 or 7 routers that you can purchase from them, with no details about the models or specs. This is the cheapest/slowest package available, routers prices seem high though, especially when you don't know what you'll get. When I called them to clarify, they said they’d just give me whatever they had in stock...

There was a well known ISP available here a few years ago, but they nearly went bankrupt and ended being bought out by their competitor, that's when they stopped offering internet services in the area. Small population made out of mostly elderly people means there's no demand...

I know it sounds crazy, but the fibre infrastructure in the country is crazy good, I remember my grandparents who lived down the road from this relative having a 1Gb/s symmetrical line 15 years ago! This service was offered by a reseller, funnily enough it was half the price that mainstream ISP were charging at the time.
