Are we the only people who have problems with Company of Heroes?

Constant NAT problems, despite all of us opening the required ports. Of all the games we play, this is the only one we have consistent issues with.

Tonight, fired the game up, everyone connected, played through, (lost). So we decided to have another game straight after...and surpise, we get the dreaded NAT error. All 3 of us.

Two of us have Netgears, the other a BTHomeHub. How the hell can it work one minute, then not the next?

BThomehub doesnt forward ports correctly so i found, i managed to find a nifty program that aids in forwarding them and sorts out the BT home hub issue, it was called portmapper worked like a charm, also helped few of my mates who had other routers connect to more games as well.
 
BT homehub is to blame. My friend had one and couldnt play these online:

Dawn of war (sometimes)
Company of heroes
Supreme commander + expansion

He bought a netgear (I think) and used with his BT line. No problems now.
 
Have the exact same problems with my friends. 1 minute working fine, the next no deal. Makes no god damned sense. Mind you 1 of em does have BT Home Hub....
 
with my homehub ive not had any issues with l4d or any other steam game so i dont know if it will make a diffrence with that, but for games where you have to connect to other players instead of connecting to a server it works well.

Btw to use portmapper you still need to forward ports on your homehub, then use portmapper to forward the ports as well then it should work fine.
 
Yet, the NAT errors suck, I used to get them all the time, then I manually opened the ports in my router (even though they said they were open in the 1st place), and it fixed it for me. I don't have BT homehub though.
 
Does Hamachi work in Vista ok now? About 12 months ago it was a nightmare to get working...which is why we're forced to use Relics system.

I'm not conviced its entirely the BTHomeHub - me and another mate have Netgear and we still can't connect to each other, and when we scroll down the games in progress, about 50% of people listed have a red "X" next to them.

Some netgear models arnt compatable with relic online iirc, so maybe you could also benifit from using portmapper as well.
