Reluctant Upgrade to Lightroom Classic?

I'm still using Lightroom 6 and was wondering if there are any ways to get Classic cheaper? I'm just a amateur photographer so a subscription is not ideal and harder to justify, but there is no choice now really.

Are there any decent discounts adobe are offering to get me to upgrade from there older product? Are there any sites I can subscribe to that get me a decent discount on adobes plans? Flickr, 500px give a small discount, but not really enough to cancel out what I'm paying them. I work for a University, but the educational discount is more than the cheapest non educational price as I have to pay for stuff I don't need/want.

I only want Lightroom Classic and I really have little to no use for any cloud storage or photoshop, but this isn't an option.

Switching to another bit of software is not really something I want to do as I have a decent sized library in lightroom and I vaguely know what I'm doing with it!

Thanks

Erm.... it's newer? The internets told me it would be "better" and I should upgrade. Allegedly it's faster and has some new features that I probably don't really need.

It does what I need it to do for now, I was just wondering if it could be had any cheaper that £9.98pm? Not quite the same, but I just replaced my mother in laws laptop that was running Windows XP that she was still doing her online banking on. Just made me think of any no longer supported software that I'm using and Lightroom is the only "old" bit of software I have!
